CORDURA® Brand Fabrics at the Heart of JanSport® Heritage Series
Touted for more than 30 years for its legendary durability and performance, INVISTA’s CORDURA® fabrics have been selected by JanSport, the original outdoor gear Brand that equips people globally with quality backpacks, travel gear and collegiate apparel, to construct a number of models in its new Heritage Series.
The JanSport Heritage Series is a modern and honest re-issue of the Brand’s original backpack and travel silhouettes that got their start in 1967. JanSport has utilized classic looking 1000 denier CORDURA® brand fabrics for a number of pieces in the new Series, and each pack is pre-washed to give a weathered retro feel similar to that of JanSport’s original collection.
“Early on, JanSport recognized the value of using the most durable materials to create long-lasting products,” said Allen Mortimer, North American marketing manager for INVISTA’s CORDURA® brand. “With the new Heritage Series we continue to use CORDURA® fabrics to showcase the exceptional quality and true essence of JanSport’s original products.”

The following JanSport Heritage packs are made with CORDURA® brand fabric and are available in six colors – black, boulder blue, retro orange, buckthorn brown, birch brown, and new cilantro green:

- Westridge
Coming soon in Fall 2009, JanSport will also incorporate high performance CORDURA® fabrics into many of its signature bags.
The relationship between the CORDURA® brand and JanSport spans more than 30 years, and to celebrate that history, JanSport will be the first to showcase the CORDURA® brand’s newly designed CORDURA® brand hangtag.

Attendees of the Outdoor Retailer Winter Market, held Thursday, January 22 through Sunday, January 25, 2009, in Salt Lake City will be able to view samples of the JanSport Heritage Series at both the JanSport booth (#36069) as well as the CORDURA® brand booth (#38197).
